Tampa Bay players vote on their peers to help lead the team.
Unlike last season when Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles opted for a wait-and-see approach on the captain voting process, Tampa Bay got the voting in and announced their team captains days ahead of the start of their 2024 regular season.
And also unlike last season, the Bucs went with six players as captains as opposed to the eight last season.

Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is a captain for the second consecutive season as well as left tackle Tristan Wirfs. Veteran Lavonte David as been named captain for the 11th consecutive season while wide receiver Mike Evans has been named a captain for the 8th season in a row.
This is Vita Vea’s third straight year being voted as a team captain. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was voted for the second time now in as many years with the Bucs as team captain.
The six captains this year is a drop from eight last season when wide receiver Chris Godwin and now current Eagles linebacker Devin White were also team captains.
