Several Bucs change numbers prior to Week 1 against Commanders

A player can have no more personal touch in the NFL than his jersey number. When a player selects one, it means something more often than not. Several Buccaneers decided to change their jersey numbers upon making the roster or practice squad. So often during the preseason, we see players double up on numbers, which has been the reason for the changes.

One of the changes is going to give Buccaneers fans a nice feeling of nostalgia.

Kameron Johnson, Earnest Brown, and Sterling Sheppard are the players getting new numbers.

Ironically, while one player’s number matches a name that will be fun to see, other notable numbers are being used. Some of these could even surprise folks who aren’t retired. Here are the new jersey numbers for the following players.
