Rashad Weaver will not be returning to the Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said the team discussed the possibility of bringing EDGE rusher Rashad Weaver back to the practice squad after releasing him from the roster last week. That won’t be happening. Weaver has presumably passed up that opportunity in favor of a fresh start, opting to sign with the Houston Texans’ practice squad instead.

The Titans chose Ali Gaye and Caleb Murphy ahead of Weaver. The fourth-year was outright released to make room for the Gaye waiver claim, a sophomore defensive end who hasn’t played in an NFL regular-season game yet. Murphy was also retained instead.
Brooks is a sophomore undrafted safety that played college football at North Greenville and Michigan State. He initially signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. He didn’t make their 53-man roster in 2023, and later signed a futures/reserve contract with the Indianapolis Colts in January.
A player like Brooks was an expected addition to the practice squad because the Titans didn’t yet have a safety on their reserve team. They have five safeties on the active roster, ranging from proven vets like Amani Hooker, Jamal Adams, and Quandre Diggs to unproven players like Mike Brown and Julius Wood.
