After four seasons with the Seahawks, former All Pro strong safety Adams will ply his trade for Tennessee in 2024.

During the 2020 NFL offseason, fans of the Seattle Seahawks were treated to an infusion of excitement, as the team made a splash trade with the New York Jets to add former All Pro safety Jamal Adams to the roster.

Adams burst onto the scene with 9.5 sacks in his first year in Seattle, setting a record for sacks in a single season by a safety. However, that success was short lived, and over the subsequent three years Adams failed to record a single sack while missing a combined 29 games due to injury. The failure to perform on the field, combined with a prohibitive cap hit, led the Seahawks to move on from Adams earlier in the offseason, and he had remained unsigned with training camp less than two weeks away.

However, on Thursday morning that changed, and any speculation about a potential reunion with the Hawks can be put to bed, as the Tennessee Titans have announced that they have signed Adams.

It’s worth noting that while the Seahawks and Titans will not meet in the regular season, they will have joint practice scrimmages and a preseason matchup in mid-August. So as long as he’s healthy and on the team by then, we will see Adams against his former team in some capacity.
