The Bengals quarterback appeared on Pardon My Take and had some exciting things to say.

The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the few fortunate teams to have a true elite franchise quarterback. While it might not be absolutely necessary to win a Super Bowl, only two quarterbacks not named Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, or Peyton Manning have won it over the last 10 years.

So it definitely helps.

Joe Burrow recently made one of his few public appearances on the “Pardon My Take” Podcast, during which he revealed he’s added 10-15 pounds of muscle this offseason and feels “a lot stronger.”

Watch the clip here.

Burrow has only finished two of the four seasons he’s played, but in those two complete seasons, the Bengals went to a Super Bowl, which they lost by three points, and they lost the following AFC Championship game on a late-game field goal.

However, those two seasons are bookended by two seasons cut short by injury. The first was Burrow’s rookie season, which ended with a devastating knee injury. Then there was the 2023 season, in which Burrow struggled initially with a calf strain suffered in training camp, but he ended up on IR with a season-ending injury to his right wrist, which required surgery.

If the extra weight will help Burrow stay healthy, then it’s nothing but a good thing. The Bengals, by adding both Trent Brown and Amarius Mims this offseason, also have the best and deepest offensive line of the Burrow era.

Hopefully, all this will culminate in a healthy Burrow hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in February.
